In 2009, Cookie, founder of the Cookies gastro universe, and his long-time friend and partner Thomas-Marco Steinle decided to give something back from their success – very specifically to children who were not born into the same security and warmth that most of us are fortunate to experience here.

 

During a trip to Tanzania, the two witnessed the reality of many orphaned children: a lack of basic care and almost no prospects for the future. Out of this experience, Charity at [ ] was born. Since then, the NGO has been supporting the Mbigili children’s village in Tanzania, a home for 83 children. In addition, 53 of the poorest families in the surrounding area are supported through the Home-Based Care Program. This gives the children the opportunity to work through trauma, develop their talents and build a real future. All donations go 100% directly to Mbigili. Event costs, travel and organizational expenses are covered personally by Cookie and Thomas. In this way, every euro becomes immediate support and every donation creates a concrete, positive change in the life of a child.

 

Especially now, as Christmas approaches and we may become a little more aware of how fortunate we are, it feels like the right moment to pause.
